Deal Castle - Most impressive and the largest of the three great coastal forts of: Sandown, Deal and Walmer built by Henry VIII to beat off the threat of Invasion from the Catholic alliance of France and Spain in the 16th century. The castle shaped liked a Tudor rose and perfectly symmetrical, is an unusual design consisting of a series of circular concentric bastions radiating outward from a circular Keep.
